Outside of my family, I have a deep passion for creativity. I dabble in many creative pursuits, such as quilt art, cross-stitch, needlepoint, and gardening and of course, web page building, but what I am the best at is sewing and having an eye for fashion...or so I am told. I learned to sew on my mother's knee...literally. She was good enough to let me sit with her and watch what she did. I absorbed it all. I was nine when I start to make Barbie clothes and then began sewing for myself at around eleven. It has forever been a passion and I started to wonder how much of my knowledge of sewing would be useful to others.

In this photo, I am wearing a silk dress I made, about 20 years ago. I think I spent about $25.00 for the pattern and the fabric.I have worn this dress for many occasions. Not bad for a quick little black dress.
